Perak being one of the oldest state in West Malaysia created many 1st, such as 1st railway built by British, 1st Anglican church, 1st museum…the list goes on. You will get to experience a unique journey in Perak where you visit museum, fishing village, taste the local food, and many more.

The aims & objectives is to get familiar with the West Malaysian local cultures and customs.

Program Description

This program will give you an overview of Perak and multicultural West Malaysia experience. On the first day of the week will explore the historical town of Taiping. Followed by local language, cooking and art handcraft lesson. On the last day of the week, you will visit Kuala Sepetang to observe the life of fishing village and visiting a successful mangrove site. 

Typical Day

Monday Enjoy a tour of Taiping in the morning followed by your West Malaysia Program Orientation in the afternoon. This is a day full of useful information about the West Malaysian Culture program while also familiarizing yourself with the local area and amenities

Tuesday You will be taken on a tour around local Churches, Mosques and Temples to gain an insight into the diverse cultures which lives harmoniously in Taiping. This is followed by Bahasa language lessons in the afternoon which will help you with basic daily conversations

Wednesday Start the day with local cooking lesson followed by community activities (playing with children, cleaning, painting, fundraising and conservation awareness discussions) at a community centre in the afternoon

Thursday Learn how to make local handicrafts (making batik, book-marks, wood craft and baskets). This is a great chance to make yourself an authentic souvenir to remember your time in Malaysia and if you’re speedy you can make multiple crafts which are then donated to a local Special Needs School who use these crafts for fundraising

Friday Spend the day visiting a very successful mangrove conversation site while also gaining an insight into the fishing village lifestyle in Kuala Sepetang
