Program Details

Teach in a local English Learning Centre alongside other international volunteers, getting to know university life in Asia!  In this cultural exchange experience you will make new friends with the local Uni students and cultural learning among each other. This program requires a minimum of  4-week commitment. The stated price is a ONE-OFF application and admin fee, please apply only for one-week duration, not multiple weeks.

Aim & Objective

The main objective is to create opportunities for learning through cultural exchange in the setting of an English Learning Centre and leisure industry class. As a teacher in the class, you will interact with students aged 19-25 and recreate real-life situations. Through role plays and previously prepared teaching materials you can teach English in a spontaneous and creative way. The students are eager to learn English and to meet foreigners and you will learn about their culture and way of life in return.

Program Description

The program provides you a very rewarding experience in Vietnam to help improving English proficiency of the university students by using English as the main medium of instruction as a temporary teacher.

You play an important role in the contribution whether during your gap year, career break or during a volunteer vacation. The impact you have on the students will be obvious, but you will also be part of a much larger network of international volunteers which is making a positive and ongoing contribution to the wider community. A fix-curriculum will be provided while at placement and you may have to teach at the language centre.

While volunteering you may be involved in:

  • Creating lesson plans
  • Managing English conversation and grammar exercises
  • Teaching formal English classes
  • Playing games and singing songs with the students

Country Info

A land of staggering natural beauty and cultural complexities of dynamic megacities and hill-tribe villages Vietnam is both exotic and compelling. Unforgettable experiences are everywhere in Vietnam. There’s the sublime: gazing over a surreal seascape of limestone islands from the deck of a traditional junk in Halong Bay. The ridiculous: taking 10 minutes just to cross the street through a tsunami of motorbikes in Hanoi. The inspirational: exploring the world’s most spectacular cave systems in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. The comical: watching a moped loaded with honking pigs weave a wobbly route along a country lane.
